Pentapharm: VIALOX FACT SHEET
VIALOX is the ready-to-use safe alternative to invasive injections for minimizing wrinkles. The dual vial system,patented by Pentapharm, is a technological approach that allows Pentapharm to highly concentrate the amino pentapeptide-3 within a cosmetic formulation.

VIALOX contains a curare-like active pentapeptide-3. This peptide acts in a manner similar to that of tubocurarin, main active compound of curare. As with curare, VIALOX acts at the post-synaptic membrane. The peptide is a competitive antagonist at the acetylcholine (ACh) membrane receptor. As the acetylcholine receptors (AChR) are blocked, the ion channel remains closed. Sodium ions (Na+) are not released and the muscles stay relaxed.

Safety : VIALOX has been thoroughly tested and is considered to be appropriate for cosmetic applications.

Efficacy tests:

In vitro test:
The efficacy of the VIALOX pentapeptide-3 has been demonstrated in vitro by measuring the frequency of contraction of innervated muscle cells in function of the incubation time. Within one minute, frequency of contractions was reduced 71%. Two hours later, muscle cell contraction was reduced 58%. VIALOX peptide significantly reduces muscle cell contraction.

In vivo test: Measurement of the anti-wrinkle and smoothing effect of VIALOX. Results showed up to –49% of wrinkle size and –47% of skin roughness after 28 days application.
